...is to reflect and honor the beauty and power of Maine's natural landscape
while supporting the artist's choice to create. We try to create an environment which
comfortably and naturally stimulates both the viewing and collecting of artwork.
Commitment to this mission is reflected by the number of artists represented by the gallery,
the compositional components used in hanging the shows, and the manner in which the public is engaged.
"To paint a landscape is to see the Divinely Created natural world. By selecting a particular view, a painter adds his or her individual signature, rendering us fascinating and unending works of art. " - Kelly Mitchell Gallery Owner
Because of the beauty of the location, and the gallery owner's particular affinity to the
importance of such beauty to the human condition, the gallery works for as many painters as
possible hoping to both encourage the creative process and to have
“something for everyone”. Most shows have work by up
to forty artists. Some of our painters have been with the gallery since its beginning in
1995, and new painters are shown as they come in. |
